You Have to Be C.R.A.Z.Y. to Be a Great Marketing Professor

Distinguished Teaching CompetitionDistinguished Teaching 10:30 AM - 12:00 Noon (America/New_York) 2024/11/07 15:30:00 UTC - 2024/11/07 17:00:00 UTC
For most of my twenty plus year teaching career my colleagues have called me a little crazy for my dedication to giving students the best educational experience possible. Over the years I have taken that moniker as a badge of honor as they are right, you do have to be a bit C.R.A.Z.Y. to be a successful teaching professor. You need to CARE about your students and their educational journey. You need to use REALISTIC examples in class to help students relate to the materials and understand the concepts. Additionally, having students learn from ACTUAL experiences helps them grow professionally and prepares them for their careers. It is also vital to have ZEAL in your presentation of materials to students as your affinity towards a topic shows through. Finally, we educators need to remember that YOU can make all the difference in a student’s life.

The Trifecta of Teaching Marketing: Strategy, Technology and Application

Distinguished Teaching CompetitionDistinguished Teaching 10:30 AM - 12:00 Noon (America/New_York) 2024/11/07 15:30:00 UTC - 2024/11/07 17:00:00 UTC
Teaching marketing today is not an easy task. Even those classes not designated as digital marketing classes can have a strong technology component and instructors often feel like they are left behind in the race to keep their courses relevant and engaging for students. Moving the students through a solid understanding of strategic principles, relevant technology and then a project or assignment to apply these concepts and skills can result in a win for the students, the instructor, and future employers.
